Some of my earliest artistic stuff was done with the A95, mostly because I could try out stuff as many times as I wanted and see the results instantly. Digital cameras are nice for that, and the A95 gives you a reasonable amount of manual control.

However, I've pretty much stopped shooting artistic on the A95 because the largest it can go with any semblance of quality is 11x14. Furthermore, the longest the shutter will stay open is 15 seconds.

I kept it around as a light meter (I can take an exposure and measure histograms down below -3EV... maybe -4EV or so, which is quite enough for most situations) and for social events where the ability to shoot a lot of pictures is more important than the individual quality of the images.

The flash can be made to fire manually, without a preflash, so it's great for working with studio strobes.

It was supposed to be my wife's camera, but I kept stealing it and eventually got her a camera of her own. It was pretty beat up, with the battery door not quite functional and the tripod mount getting progressively more stripped, and then I fell into the bay with all my camera gear and it was truly and unrepairably dead, so I used the insurance money to get a G7.
