So, the Nokia folks sent me the N95 8GB to play with. The two things I have been playing with the most are the web browser and the camera.
I have to say, the N95's camera is quite good for a cellphone camera, with exactly one flaw and one "nice to have" feature.
And this is on obsessive-compulsive mode. Check the EXIF tags! There's exposure information there, which is awesome. I can view it full-size and still make out detail. If you put it up against what I took on my VX6800's 2 megapixel camera, there's NO comparison. The colors are better and what I would describe as "right".
The G7 still gets better results... but then it's a much larger chassis to fit a much larger sensor / lens / electronics / etc.
The "nice to have" is manual exposure. I care. Most of the rest of the world doesn't, so one can't really fault Nokia for leaving that out.
The flaw is that it doesn't automatically geotag images. Or, if it does, I can't seem to make it do that.
