From what I've read the shutter in their 645 folders is a tad fragile and if you don't follow the correct order of operations while folding it, you may damage it -- see http://www.dantestella.com/technical/folders.html
I've never tried to do a real 645 vs. 6x7 comparison.
I do suspect that if I were to want to buy a Fuji rangefinder, I'd get a used one. Mostly I'm just impressed that people are designing new medium format cameras (which are hopefully designed around the new european lead-free directives, which seems to have made a number of cameras unsaleable.
